New Prepositions? Hitterish?
We all hear new words—nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs—but how often do you hear a new proposition? What about the “baseball term” hitterish? Is it new or as old as the legend of the Babe? Epstein Dead
On Friday Barbara Epstein, one of the founding editors and co-editor of The New York Review of Books, died at the age of 77. She and her husband, Jason, founded the publication during the 1963 newspaper strike. “The new magazine was immediately hailed as 'of more cultural import than the opening of Lincoln Center,'” which had opened only a short time earlier.
